All foreign citizens that want to travel to Mexico need a Migratory Document correspondent to the activity that will be performed in our country (tourist, business, etc.) This document is obtained in the Mexican Embassy or Consulate near their city except for USA, Canada and Japan citizens, that can obtain them in the Airport, Airlines or Travel Agencies. Except for Israel, Costa Rica, Uruguay, Canada, USA and Japan, the rest of the countries need their Visa apart from their migratory document to enter our country.

So specific documents are:

• Valid Passport
• U.S "Alien Registration"
• Visa (ask our embassy or Consulates)

Please ask them to contact our embassies or consulates or their embassy in the USA, remember that the above mentioned information is regarding to entry to our country, but to return to USA they need to obtain a Multiple Entry Visa from the USA.

2. IS A GREEN CARD VALID?

Green cards are not considered official, ask them a Certificate of naturalization, Certificate of citizenship or Laminated Naturalization Card.

3. EXPIRED DOCUMENTS ACCEPTED?

No.

4. PETS?

All pets require a current certificate of good health and proper vacinnation records, etc., from a licensed vet. As to returning, information posted by US Customs states that a dog must have a valid certificate of rabies vacinnation dated more than thirty days before the date of entry, and the dog must be in good health when seen at the port of entry.

BORDER CROSSING

Regarding to questions received about border crossing of foreign citizens to Mexico from USA, please find the latest information provided by Instituto Nacional de Migración as follows:

• Actual fee for vehicles border crossing is US$ 10.00 plus Iva (15%) that can be paid in cash, credit card or bond. Citizens must prove their citizenship with their greencard for example, ownership of vehicle with their invoice, if they are paying it they must have a commercial invoice, if it is a company’s vehicle they must have the invoice showing the company’s ownership and some documents that proves that they work for this company.

• Fee for people (apart from vehicles) for border crossing is $ 153 pesos at the day’s exchange rate. If they are traveling by plane, airlines charge directly this fee in their tickets. If they are traveling by bus, they must pay it at border. This fee is denominated as DNI or Derecho de No Inmigrante and is only for tourists.

• DNI is not paid in the following zones denominated as Corredores Turisticos (Tourist Corridor) they are: Tijuana – Ensenada, Sonorita – Puerto Peñasco, CD. Juárez – Paquime, Piedras Negras – Santa Rosa. Reynosa – China – Presa el Cuchillo.

Requirements for United State Citizens

United States Citizens don’t need to obtain visa. They just need to present one of the following documents at the port of entry:

• Valid United State Passport
• Original birth certificate, certified copy or certificate of naturalization with photo official, identification (le drivers license)
• Voters registration card with photo official identification
• Notarized affidavits or birth facts with photo identification
• Minors under the age of 18 and traveling alone or with only one parent or with someone other than parents must have a notarized letter of permission signed by the parent/parents not traveling. In case of divorce, parents custody document is permissible in lice of notarized letter
• Permanent Residents

Citizen of any other nationality who are permanent residents in the United State and if they depart from the United States, just have to present their Permanent Resident Alien Card along with their valid passport. If they don’t have the permanent Residents Alien Card yet but they have it stamped on their passport, that will be sufficient.

• Citizens from the following countries do not require to get a Visa for Tourist Purpose:
